Atlanta Zoo

Hi loves,

Hope everyone had a great weekend or at least a relaxing one. I know I did and I’m glad that I did because it is the only time I get to sleep in, and not have the alarm clock buzzing in my ear to wake me up. So yes, that was definitely nice.

As usual, our weekends is usually for us to de-stress, do things around the house, get ready for the week and doing something fun. This past Saturday was no different; our friends spontaneously invited us out to the Atlanta Zoo, and since we haven’t been there before or had anything planned for the day, we said yes!

Compulsory main-gate picture with my little fam.

The Atlanta Zoo is located right in the heart of the city (thought that it was located away from it but I was wrong) and it is placed right on Grant Park . I’ve never been to Grant Park  either, so I got to kill two birds with one stone. It was SUCH a beautiful day, you guys. It couldn’t have been more perfect for a zoo day.

A couple Orang Utans sunbathing on the rocks.
A GIANT turtle stuffing his face with food – literally.

Our first impression of the zoo was that it is actually nice. I don’t know why people don’t rave about it as much considering the size of our city, but I think that the animals on display were plenty and various. They also just recently opened the Reptile & Amphibian exhibit which I thought was a nice addition to the zoo, despite my dislike for reptiles in general.

In case you didn’t know this before but I am actually deathly afraid of snakes and the reptile room had every single snake species you could think of – ever – in one room. It was creepy. I got pretty nervous halfway in, thinking that if there was a natural disaster like an earthquake that erupted in that moment – I will be dead. So yes, there are no photos of any snakes in here.. at all.

A lizard doing a pretty spot-on camo of the branch.
Some random human species acting like animals were on display too.

All in all, we had an amazing time. The zoo wasn’t too big or too much for us to handle in one day and we were able to cover it all in just about 3 hours or so. We would definitely bring Alden back there when he is bigger so he could enjoy it even more. Who knows what the zoo will look like in a few more years to come; there might be more new things for us to see.

Lunchtime for my babe. Boobie time!
Aren’t his overalls adorable?

We went to Fellini’s off Howell Mill Rd. to enjoy some pizza and some cold brews after visiting the zoo and as soon as we got home, we crashed for a few hours napping on the bed – These old folks can’t go hard any more. =)

Now.. two more sleeps until the weekend again..
